Should be considered if the child in question is a MALE and the father (or any sample from the father) is not available for the test, but another relative from the father’s side of the family is available, such as an uncle or a nephew. This is a male-only test.
Other reasons for this exam include:
Genealogy studies
Paternity testing
Sibling studies (from the same father)
Grand paternity testing (from the same grandfather)
Male kinship analysis
Forensics (sexual assault, semen/sperm stains on panty, blood or saliva mixtures from male or female, fingernail samples)
This test is less costly than, and eliminates the need for, an additional Differential Lysis Exam (elimination of female profiles), depending upon your circumstances.
